WE AREN'T JUST EXPERTS AT

IMPROVISATION...

WE ARE EXPERTS AT ITS APPLICATION IN BUSINESS.

We Find Creativity in the Moment.

The Free Association is London’s biggest comedy theatre company, school, and business trainer, specialising in improvised comedy. We train over 2500 people a year in our unique approach to creativity, and we can’t wait to share it with you, too.

We find creativity in the moment.

On stage, we create hilarious comedy shows in the moment.  In the classroom, our students develop the confidence and ability to express themselves in the moment.  In business, we build an idea-friendly environment; a culture where workers can encourage, and be encouraged, to innovate in the moment.

The Free Association's training team provides an unprecedented 3750+ hours of improv training a year across the UK to over 2000 individuals. We don’t do anything else!

Improvisation training in business is a relatively new phenomenon in the UK, but a tried, tested and celebrated method overseas. We have set the bar high - bringing our clients the most experienced and talented training staff that Europe has to offer

There’s So Much More Beneath The Surface!

A member of Free Association enters the stage with their team with nothing but the knowledge that everybody else ‘has their back’. Safe in this knowledge, we step into the unknown and work together to create the most wonderful and hilarious shows.

How?

WE COMMUNICATE - VERBALLY, AND NON-VERBALLY.

WE LISTEN TO AND ACCEPT WHAT THE OTHER PEOPLE ARE OFFERING.

WE ARE FLEXIBLE IN OUR APPROACH, RATHER THAN PUSHING AN AGENDA.

WE ARE INNOVATIVE IN OUR THINKING - TAKING NEW, BOLD CHOICES.

WE CAN ADAPT - CHANGE DIRECTION AND MOVE WITH THE NEW FLOW.

WE ARE EMPATHETIC TO OUR PARTNERS NEEDS.

WE DON’T KNOW WHAT’S COMING NEXT, AND WE EMBRACE THAT, TOGETHER.

WE ACCEPT THAT SOMETIMES IT WILL FAIL.

WE HAVE THE CONFIDENCE TO DO IT ANYWAY.

BECAUSE WE DO IT AS A TEAM.

After years of fortifying these good habits - we thought we’d share them with you. We deliver unique and engaging training programmes that, using a series of practical exercises, identify where the individual may be inadvertently working against these important principles, and show the benefits of bringing an Idea Friendly Environment into the workplace.

We’re a small company, with small company values - however, our company ecosystem and private training programme means that we have a large amount of highly skilled facilitators ready to go at a moments notice. This means that there’s no job too big or too small.

Some examples of the scale of our training…

150 Architects trained in one 2hr slot for the Royal Academy of British Architects? No problem.

A small focused session with 6 C-suite team members on an away day for a UK hightstreet bank. Done.

350 new members of staff over 6 months in regular out of town workshops for a leading telecommunication company. A breeze.

300 Managing Directors and Vice Presidents across 6 countries in one month for an investment bank? All in a day’s work.

A simultaneous in person workshop in the UK and US for an executive training organisation? Easy.

Have a training quandary without a clear solution?  Try us. We might surprise you.

Helping The Innovators of The Future

We feel very strongly about the importance of creative education, and hope you do too. For every business workshop that we deliver, we will provide a relevant creative skills workshop to children and young people, free of charge.

Our training teaches people to be confident, respond in the moment, value other’s ideas, accept failure, collaborate, innovate, and so much more. Even thought these entrepreneurial skills are desirable to employers, the UK formal education curriculum overlooks them as non-essential ‘creative skills’. This means that, for the most part, children and young people (your employees of tomorrow ) don’t gain them through their normal education pathways.

Don’t worry - We’ve got their backs.

We will provide free employability workshops to formal education establishments, and other organisations that engage hard-to-reach children and young people, and we will gladly provide them in a place of your choosing.
